I think it’s fun and funny when we try to figure out the Myers-Briggs types of fictional characters. I read that Luke Skywalker, Jane Eyre, and the Tinman, are all INFJs. I wonder if they took an online test or had a certified MBTI counselor. For my amusement today, I’m wondering about Toto from the Wizard of Oz movie. INFJ? INFP? What do you think?

I would say Toto, like most dogs, is an ESFP. Most cats are ISFJ’s. And the Tinman is by definition a T. Probably an INTJ. Not much fun on a date.

I’m going with the “P” as well.

You may be right. I may be crazy. INFPs and INFJs have SO much in common.

Haha, I too love typing pets :). I certainly know a lot of ESFP dogs… but not all are :). I swear our family dog was an INTJ. My current pooch is more of an ISFP. I used to dogsit an uncannily intuitive and intelligent xNFJ Doberman-cross. And my cat, strangely enough, is more of an ENFP (very smoochy and ‘unaloof’ for a cat!). I don’t know Toto well enough to answer, but I reckon he could pass for an INFJ :).
(Did you know there is a whole field of research on animal personality?… not based on the MBTI though, lol. Especially useful for matching therapy dogs with the right people).
