How Many Is “Us”?

Here’s another quote from Dr. Laurie Helgoe’s book Introvert Power. I’ve accepted the fact that I just don’t have the energy to extend myself all the time. And when I do, I want to make sure I’m at my best, which in large part depends on the situation.

  1. Back in college days, I would go to parties. I would sit right in front of a usually-very-loud stereo speaker. No one tried to talk with me for more than a moment because we couldn’t hear each other. So I could sit and do my favorite introvert party thing – people watch – while being left alone. 🙂

  2. Just found this blog, I’m an introvert too, a couple of months ago my old college friend asked to meet, but then i saw her inviting all her other friends on fb, and then i had to make excuses, and i even avoided talking to her for a few weeks, so much time and energy wasted! i don’t think she ever realised how much even 5 minutes of one-on-one time with her would have meant to me. I think it’s an underappreciated introvert power that when we do give our time and energy to another person, we mean it only for them, and we often put in all of our heart to do so.
